Priority fees and slippage explained
The platform fee is only one part of a trade's cost. On Solana you also pay a base network fee, an optional priority fee or tip to speed inclusion, and you may receive a worse price than quoted — slippage.

Priority fee and tips
A priority fee is paid to validators to improve the chance and speed of inclusion. Some terminals also route through services that take a separate tip. Both are paid per transaction, so a buy and a sell pay them twice.
Slippage tolerance vs actual slippage
Slippage tolerance is the maximum price deviation you accept. GMGN's docs give the example that 30% buy slippage means the trade succeeds if you receive at least 70% of the quoted tokens. Actual slippage is what happened; tolerance is just the ceiling.
Illustrative example
Illustrative only: a 5 SOL buy with a 1% platform fee costs 0.05 SOL in platform fees. Add a 0.001 SOL priority fee and 1% realised slippage (0.05 SOL) and the total cost is about 0.101 SOL before any cashback. Use the fee calculator with your own settings.
